"Blinds"

The blinds stay shut!!

I force myself to smile
Sometimes it’s so hard, to force a smile
You think that everything is just fine
But nothing seems right inside

You’ll never know how it feels
Or how long those nights, seem to take
And all you’ll hear, is that junk
And you can keep thinking, I’m just fine

You’ll never know what you did
I’ll never let you know, how this stung
I’ll keep on faking when you’re around
And you’ll keep on thinking I’ve been found

I try to keep the blinds shut
I don’t like to let, the inside in
The curtains are drawn as tight as they can
But the voices seem to start, over again...

I’ve carried this for so long
Somedays I don’t know, what’s in store
But the machine, helps face the night
When everything starts to feel alright

The words start to sting more
Living in your fantasy, everyday
The rain should come, and wash away
All the colors, that you paint

Let me be alone this once
Let me lie under, the covers of my thoughts
Just give me space, some time to think
And listen to the sound, of time slowing down
